[edit] What is the Ashokan Field Campus?

Owned and operated by Campus Auxiliary Services, Inc. of SUNY New Paltz, Ashokan Field Campus is a residential outdoor/environmental education center 10 miles west of Kingston in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. Ashokan is an ideal location for class or faculty retreats, hands-on outdoor learning and environmental education. Its 372 acres set in an 19th century setting offers canoeing, hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, live barnyard animals, and a whole lot more.

9:00am to 4:00pm, September - June
9:00am to sundown during July and August

Guided group programs by appointment. Education programs for children, Sept.-June.

GENERAL PUBLIC: $6.50 per person, $12.00 per family

SUNY NEW PALTZ (Students, Staff, & Alumni): $2.00 per person, $6.00 per family

GROUPS: Admission for groups is by prior arrangement only. Please call the office for information.

[edit] Overnight/Residential Use

Ashokan's 3 overnight lodging facilities and food service can accommodate groups of up to 120 people. PLEASE NOTE: a minimum of 25 people is required for food service and overnight use.

For those who want to rough it, camping is available only to groups, members, or the SUNY New Paltz college community. We do not offer public camping.
