The Student Union Building (SUB) is a building on the SUNY New Paltz Campus. The State Administration of SUNY New Paltz oversees and claims responsibility for the affairs that take place in this building through the Student Activities and Union Services (usually referred to simply as "SAUS").
Information Center
Easiest to find by entering the building from its north-east entrance, the Information Center is an assistance desk for students, parents, and visitors, located on the first floor of the SUB, and staffed by the Office of Student Activities and Union Services. These employees (which are limited to full-time students at SUNY New Paltz only) are trained to provide information about the campus, offices, programs and frequently asked questions.
In order for any organization to enter their office, they must first provide Student Activities and Union Services with a list of members who can access their office, then have a listed member sign out a key at the Information Center. To borrow Audio/Video equipment for events or meetings, students need to visit the Information Center for assistance.
Campus Bookstore
Located in the basement of the Student Union Building, the Campus Bookstore sells textbooks, schoool supplies, basic art supplies, New Paltz clothing, and a host of other items. The bookstore is run in most part by Campus Auxiliary Services.

Student Activities and Union Services Debate
There is ongoing disagreement between students and administrators on whether the State Administration of SUNY New Paltz should have say on policy and procedure in the Student Union Building through the Office of Student Activities and Union Services, and if so, how much. A similar debate became heated due to the SUB Renovation Project, when hundreds of students protested the Administration's decision to renovate the building with little to no say from the student body in 2005.
